“I Love Quilting & Spring Flowers” Tour featuring the Holland, Michigan Tulip Festival

For the past 17 years we have been offering a Quilting tour open to all ladies who love to quilt, enjoy handiwork and enjoy the comradery of women who enjoy life and like to have fun.  It is a few days of retail therapy, great food and interesting local attractions.

Tentative itinerary:

Day 1: Mon., May 6 – The tour will depart from Orillia at 7:00a.m.(with a minimum of 8 customers), Barrie, Bayfield Mall behind Canadian Tire Store at 7:30a.m. & the Tour Office at 8:00a.m..  Overnight parking is available at our Tour Office.  A Canadian Passport will be required for the border crossing into the USA. We will allow time for duty free shopping, followed by lunch at the Cracker Barrel in Port Huron. A visit to RMC Fabrics for batting & fabric will kick off our week of retail therapy. This afternoon we will travel to Lansing for our overnight stay at the Country Inn & Suites. The hotel offers breakfast daily, free wifi, indoor pool and fitness centre.  All rooms are equipped with a fridge, microwave & coffee maker.

Day 2: Tues., May 7 – Following our group breakfast we will depart for a day of quilt fabric & wool shopping.  Visits will include stores in Kalamazoo & Battle Creek.  This afternoon we will check into the Holiday Inn Express Grand Rapids South – Wyoming our home for the next 3 nights. The hotel is located just 30 minutes from Holland, Michigan.  The hotel offers breakfast daily, free wifi, indoor pool, fitness centre & guest laundry.  All rooms are equipped with a fridge, microwave & coffee maker. Day 3: Wed., May 8 – This morning following breakfast we will visit Field’s Fabric Outlet and Calliope Quilts.  This afternoon we will travel to Holland, Michigan where we will enjoy a 2-hour guided city tour, a visit to Pressing Matters Quilt store and the Tulip Time Quilt Show. Over 100 quilts will be hung for patrons to enjoy. There will be a raffle for a chance to win a one of a kind quilt commemorate this year’s 95th Festival.  We will enjoy dinner at the newly opened Olive Garden restaurant before returning to our hotel.  (B & D)

Day 4: Thurs., May 9 – This morning following our buffet breakfast we will return to Holland, Michigan for the Tulip Time 95th Year Celebrations. Our day’s activities will happen rain or shine, so appropriate clothing is required. Highlights include: a morning visit to Windmill Island Gardens, box lunch, reserved Grandstand seating for the Gentex Kinderparade and visit to the Tulip Immersion Gardens.  An evening group dinner at Uccello’s Italian Restaurant, in Grand Rapids will conclude our day. Day 5: Fri., May 10 – A group breakfast will be served at the hotel before departing for home.  We will stop at Joann’s Fabrics & Crafts enroute to Port Huron.  We will stop for duty free shopping & meal breaks on our travels.  Return to Bradford at approx. 7:00p.m, Barrie at 7:30p.m. & Orillia at 8:00p.m. (B)

Tour includes: motor coach transportation with Hamilton Tours Director, 4 nights hotel & taxes, baggage handling, 4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 2 dinners, visits to 8 Quilt & Fabric Stores, Tulip Time Quilt Show, Holland Tulip Time attractions as listed in the itinerary, duty free shopping & HST EXEMPT.

A finalized list of Quilt & Fabric Stores will be provided one month prior to the tour.

Cost per person: Twin $1410.00 & Single $1825.00

A deposit of $600.00 is required at the time of booking, with the balance due in full by April 11, 2024.

Travel Insurance is available through our office at the time of booking at an additional charge.
