Shenandoah National Park & Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia – Fall Colour Tour

Tentative Itinerary:

Day 1: Mon., Oct. 26 – The tour will depart Barrie, Bayfield Mall behind Canadian Tire Store at 7:45a.m. & Tour Office at 8:15a.m. A free shuttle van service is available with a minimum of 4 customers from the Collingwood, Stayner & Wasaga Beach area upon request and transferred to meet the coach in Barrie. Overnight parking is available at our Tour Office. Remember to bring your Canadian Passport for the border crossing into the USA. We will stop for Duty Free shopping, meal and coffee breaks enroute to Altoona, Pennsylvania, our overnight destination.

Day 2: Tues., Oct. 27 – Following breakfast we will depart for Shenandoah National Park. This afternoon we will enjoy breathtaking views as we travel along the Skyline Drive overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. We will visit the National Park Office and take in the introductory film. The park is mostly forested; it features wetlands, waterfalls and rocky peaks like Hawksbill and Old Rag Mountains. Shenandoah is home to many bird species, plus deer, squirrels and the elusive black bear. We will check into our accommodations: Skyland Lodge for our 2 night stay. A group evening dinner awaits us. Day 3: Wed., Oct. 28 – This morning we will visit the Luray Caverns. The cavern system is generously adorned with columns, mud flows, stalagmites and mirrored pools. Lunch will be at a favourite local restaurant. This afternoon step back in time as we make a stop at Cooter’s. It is a replica of Cooters Garage with Boss Hoggs Caddy, General Lee, Cooter’s Tow Truck and more.   There is a museum, shop & eatery dedicated to the Dukes of Hazzard TV Series. (B & L)

Day 4: Thurs., Oct. 29 – This morning following breakfast we will leave our beautiful lodge and depart for Williamsburg. First we will make a slight detour to The Walton’s Mountain Museum in Schuyler. It is a special blend of history, nostalgia and entertainment. Located within the building where author Earl Hamner, Jr. attended school, the museum displays replicas of sets from “The Waltons,” TV series including: John Boy’s bedroom, the Waltons’ kitchen and living room and Ike Godsey’s store, plus hundreds of photos and memorabilia from the 1930’s era. Late this afternoon we will check into our hotel in Colonial Williamsburg for a 2 night stay. (B)

Day 5: Fri., Oct. 30 – Colonial Williamsburg is a historical landmark and a living history museum. Today we will have a guided tour, followed by free time in the town to visit the shops and experience life as it was in the 18th century. The costumed employees work and dress as people did in the era. Tonight a special treat awaits us as we dine in one of the City’s historic Taverns. (B & D)

Day 6: Sat., Oct. 31 – Today we begin our journey home, skirting Washington D.C. enroute to Lewisburg, Penn.(B & D)

Day 7: Sun., Nov. 1 – Following breakfast, we depart for home stopping at the Duty Free store prior to returning to Canada. Our return time to Barrie is approximately 7:00p.m. (B)

Tour includes: motor coach transportation with Hamilton Tours Director, 6 nights hotel & taxes, baggage handling, 7 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 3 evening dinners, National Park Pass, Museum Pass, attractions as listed in itinerary, shuttle to local shopping, duty free shopping & HST EXEMPT.

An initial deposit of $500.00 is required at the time of booking, with the balance due in full by September 10, 2020.
