Portugal Long Stay including the Algarve, Lisbon and a day trip to Seville, Spain.

Tentative itinerary:

Day 1: Thurs., March 6 – The tour will depart from Stayner Arena, Barrie, Bayfield Mall behind the Canadian Tire, and our Tour Office for our shuttle to Pearson Internation Airport. Overnight parking is available at our Tour Office.  Today we start our journey with an overnight flight to Lisbon.

Day 2: Fri., March 7 – Arrival into Lisbon airport and transfer to Albufeira, located in the Algarve. This evening, we will enjoy a welcome group dinner. This will be our home for the next 10 nights. (D)

Day 3: Sat., March 8 – This morning, we join our guide on a walking tour of Albufeira, discovering the unique corners of this stunning coastal town with its history and charm. (B & D)

Day 4: Sun., March 9 – Today is free to explore the town of Albufeira. (B & D)

Day 5: Mon., March 10 -Today, we’ll uncover the medieval towns of Lagos and Sagres, perched on the south westerly corner of the Algarve. We’ll visit one of Europe’s most south westerly corners with a visit to Cape St Vincent, followed by the Sagres Fort and Lagos. Walk around the cobbled streets of this historical town and visit the remnants of the Mercado do Escravos, said to be the very first slave market in Europe, showing the story of one of Europe’s darkest moments. Later, free time to shop around and purchase some souvenirs. Free evening in Albufeira.  (B & D)

Day 6:  Tues., March 11 – Free day to enjoy the delights of Albufeira. (B & D)

Day 7: Wed., March 12 – Today we will visit an Olive grove and discover how one of the world’s most infamous culinary delights, olives are pressed into liquid gold.  Free evening. (B & D)

Day 8: Thurs., March 13 – Free day to enjoy Albufreira. (B & D)

Day 9: Fri., March 14 – Today we’ll head east and cross over the border on a 2-hour journey and visit Seville. One of Spain’s largest cities and home of the Flamenco dance. We will enjoy a guided tour around the old quarters of Seville with its historical colorful lanes filled with orange trees. Visit the famous Seville Cathedral followed by a Flamenco show in the evening before travelling back to the Algarve. (B & D)

Day 10: Sat., March 15 – Today is a day for the foodies. In the afternoon we will visit one of the Algarve’s renowned cooking schools and discover how to make some scrumptious traditional Portuguese dishes.  Free evening in Albufeira. (B & D)

Day 11: Sun. March 16 – Enjoy our day in the Algarve.  Time to enjoy the beach or some last-minute shopping. (B & D)

Day 12: Mon., March 17 -Today we depart the Algarve and travel towards the interior of Portugal and travel into the region of Alentejo. This area is renowned for its Cork forests. We will visit a local cork farm to discover how it is harvested.  Our visit includes lunch in a vineyard and wine tasting. We visit the Church of St. Francis, also known as the Chapel of Bones.  Our overnight stay is in Evora and this evening there will be time to walk the cobbled streets. (B, L, D)

Day 13: Tues., March 18 -Today we travel west towards Lisbon, Portugal’s capital for a 2 nights stay.  We begin our tour of Lisbon with a visit to its historical quarters, the Alfama and Baixa. This afternoon take time to enjoy a coffee with a savory Pastel de Nata tart. (B & D)

Day 14: Wed., March 19 – After breakfast, we will explore the City of Lisbon with a guided highlights tour and conclude our day with time to visit the Alfama quarter.  This evening, during dinner, we will experience traditional Portuguese Fado music. (B & D)

Day 15: Thurs., March 20 – This morning, we transfer to the airport for our return trip. Upon arrival at Pearson International Airport, our coach will be waiting to return us home. (B)

Tour includes: motor coach transportation with Hamilton Tours Director, a local guide, 13 nights hotel accommodation, baggage handling for 1 large suitcase each, hotel taxes, 13 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 13 evening dinners, attractions as listed in itinerary, duty free shopping & HST EXEMPT.

A Valid Canadian Passport is required for this tour with the expiry date being a minimum of 6 months past the date of travel.  You will be required to provide a photocopy of your passport at the time of booking.

An initial deposit of $2000 is due upon booking.

A second deposit of $2000.00 is due on Oct. 10, 2024

The balance is due in full by Jan 8, 2025
