Polar Bear Migration, Churchill, Manitoba – the Ultimate Canadian Experience

Tentative Itinerary:
Day 1: Sun., Oct. 29 –
The tour will depart from Collingwood, Barrie, Bayfield Mall behind Canadian Tire Store & Tour Office at 7:00a.m. for our shuttle to Pearson International Airport.  (Overnight parking is available at our Tour Office) We will depart on a midday Air Canada flight Winnipeg and check in for the evening at the Lakeview Signature by Wyndham Hotel, located at Winnipeg’s International airport. The group will join their Frontiers North Interpretive Guide for a brief orientation this evening to review the trip itinerary details. Overnight in Winnipeg.

Day 2: Mon., Oct. 30 – After breakfast we will depart on an early morning flight from Winnipeg to Churchill. Upon arrival, set out for a Churchill and area tour taking the group to local and historical points of interest such as Cape Merry, the Port of Churchill, and Manitoba Conservation’s Polar Bear Holding Facility, weather permitting. Following lunch together at a local restaurant, guests will visit the Polar Bears International (PBI) House, an innovative public space allowing visitors to learn about polar bears, polar bear TOUR PROPOSAL conservation and research. Here guests will enjoy an exclusive tour of the facilities followed by a private presentation hosted by PBI species experts and representatives. Overnight at a Churchill hotel. (B, L & D)

Day 3: Tues., Oct. 31 – After an early morning breakfast the group will depart for their first full-day Tundra Buggy® adventure, exploring the Churchill Wildlife Management Area (CWMA) in search of polar bears, arctic fox, ptarmigan and other subarctic wildlife. Venturing on a network of established trails, the Tundra Buggy takes you to the best locations in the CWMA to view and photograph the subarctic tundra. Following dinner at a local restaurant the evening can be spent exploring Churchill’s authentic shops, enjoying a beverage at the local pub or relaxing at the hotel. Overnight at a Churchill hotel. Day 4: Wed., Nov. 1 – After breakfast guests will once again have the opportunity to view wild polar bears from a Tundra Buggy on their second and final full-day adventure. Today guests will be accompanied by a Polar Bears International species expert who will join guests on board for an in-depth discussion on polar bears and their habitat. After a day of exploring the tundra, the group will be transferred directly to the Churchill Airport for an evening flight back to Winnipeg. A light meal will be served onboard. Upon arrival in Winnipeg guests will check in for the night at the Lakeview Signature by Wyndham Hotel, located at the Winnipeg International Airport. Overnight in Winnipeg. (B, L & D)

Day 5: Thurs., Nov. 2 – After breakfast we will enjoy The Heart of a Nation Trolley Tour. Experience the most incredible sites and stories Winnipeg has to offer on our award-winning Highlights and Unknown Sites tour. Learn why Manitoba’s capital should be called ‘Secret New York’and our city’s shocking connection to James Bond.  Tour highlights include:

  • Boniface, Winnipeg’s charming French quarter.
  • The Exchange District, housing North America’s largest collection of turn-of-the-century architecture.
  • Canada Life Centre hockey arena, home of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets hockey team.
  • The community club where rock legends The Guess Who and Neil Young got their start.
  • The grand 400-acre Assiniboine Park.
  • The Canadian Museum for Human Rights, the world’s only human rights museum.
  • The Manitoba Legislative Building, one of Canada’s most mysterious architectural wonders.

This afternoon we will depart for home on our Air Canada flight arriving at Pearson International Airport where our Hammond Coach will be there to pick us up and return us to our original departure points. (B)

Tour includes: transfer to Pearson International Airport in Toronto, return direct flights, departure taxes, airport baggage fees round trip, Hamilton Tours Director, 4 nights’ accommodation, hotel taxes, 4 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners, gratuities on included meals, 2 full days on the Tundra Buggy to photograph and observe the Polar Bears, gratuities for the Tundra Buggy drivers and guides,  attractions, museum visits and guided tours as listed in the itinerary & HST.

Cost per person: Twin $9195.00 (includes HST of $1057.88)  & Single $10155.00 (includes HST of $1168.27)

Please note that this tour is limited to 16 passengers and a total of 10 rooms.  With a maximum of only 2 single places.  

An initial deposit of $2000.00 per person is required upon booking.

A 2nd deposit of $2500.00 is due on May 1

3rd deposit  of $2500.00 is due on June 1

Balance due in full by July 4, 2023
