From the ever-popular handmade wooden rockers on the wrap-around porches, to the Amish-style quilts and handcrafted furnishings, you will begin to experience Lancaster County from the moment you arrive.   We will meet our local guide and travel to Lititz to Elva’s Studio.  Enjoy a presentation reviving the old art of chalk talk, a fun, motivational and inspiring event you’ll never forget. This evening we will be welcomed into a real Amish home as their guests for an authentic Amish meal. Enjoy their kind and gracious hospitality as the family serves you a delicious Penn Dutch feast.  (B & D)

Day 3: Wed., Sept. 30 – Following breakfast we will meet our local guide and travel to Stitch & Craft Fabric Store located in Manheim.  Then it is off to experience a Victorian High Tea in the Historic Mount Hope Mansion. Before meeting Daisy Grubb, the former owner of the estate, her friends will give the group a lesson in etiquette. Throughout the tea with Miss Daisy, the group will learn about the history of tea time, as well as of the mansion. This afternoon we will visit 2, possibly 3 Fabric Shops. They will include  Mook’s Fabrics in Leola, Obie’s Country Store in Goodville and Good’s General Store in East Earl.  Dinner tonight will be at Shady Maple Smorgasbord. After feasting on the all-you-can-eat smorgasbord, there will be time to explore their gigantic 41,000 square foot gift shop located on the lower level. The gift shop showcases hundreds of unique gift items including collectibles, candles and Amish-crafted furniture. (B, L & D)

Day 4: Thurs., Oct. 1 – This morning we will tour the Amish Farmlands with our local guide.  See the pristine Amish farms, one-room schoolhouses, wind wheels, Amish “phone booths” and farmers working the fields with their horse or mule-drawn plows.  We will visit a local Amish Quilt & Craft Shop. No visit to the area would be complete without a stop at Kitchen Kettle Village in the village of Intercourse.  There will be time to visit Zook’s Dry Goods & The Old County Store, 2 of our favourite stores in town over the lunch hour.  This afternoon we will attend the 3:00p.m. performance of Queen Esther at the Sight & Sound Theatre. Experience one of the most riveting Bible stories of the Old Testament as it comes to life with magnificent sets, special effects and live animals in this brand-new, original stage production! This evening dinner will be at Millers Smorgasbord – a family-owned tradition of good food and exceptional service since 1929. (B & D)
