Thursday, September 8 to Monday, September 13, 2016 - Chicago – My Kind of Town
Tentative Itinerary:
Day 1:  Thurs., Sept. 8 - The tour will depart from Orillia at 6:30a.m., Barrie, Bayfield Mall behind Canadian Tire at 7:00a.m. & the Tour Office at 7:30a.m. (Overnight parking is available at the Tour Office).
Remember to bring with you your Valid Canadian Passport for the border crossing into the USA. Please keep this document with you and be prepared to present it at the border. 
Today we travel to Middlebury, Indiana for our overnight stay at the beautiful Essenhaus.  Enjoy dinner served family style. (D)
Day 2: Fri., Sept. 9 - This morning we arrive in Chicago and enjoy a city tour with a local guide. Visit the Millennium Park with its stunning outdoor art including Cloud Gate-affectionately known as “The Bean”.  Enjoy Chicago-style pizza for lunch at a favourite restaurant in the Gold Coast area.  This afternoon, we go behind the scenes of the legendary home of the Chicago Cubs-Wrigley Field.  We finish our day with dinner at one of Chicago’s legendary Blues Clubs, Buddy Guy’s.  After dinner we check in to the Hyatt Hotel in Deerfield for our three-night stay. Day 3: Sat., Sept. 10 - Today, we view Chicago’s magnificent skyline as we enjoy a narrated cruise on Lake Michigan and the Chicago River which gives us an opportunity to view some of the City’s architectural accomplishments. Then, we embark on a journey to the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower to view the City from a different perspective.  In the afternoon, we continue our driving tour of Chicago’s sights. This evening, discover Chicago’s notorious past, and the colorful Era of Prohibition as we experience Tommy Gun’s Garage, Chicago’s only original Speakeasy Dinner Theater. You will be transported back to the 1920's complete with the gangsters and flappers, roaring twenties music, silent movies, and memorabilia. (B & D)
Day 4: Sun., Sept. 11 - Enjoy some time for shopping or exploring Chicago on your own as you venture on to Chicago’s “Magnificent Mile”.  Explore the Chicago Sports Museum where great team memorabilia is on display.  This afternoon we visit the Field Museum where the featured exhibit is the Terra Cotta Warriors. We explore Hyde Park, the President’s neighbourhood and the University of Chicago Quad. (B & D)
Day 5: Mon., Sept. 12 - Enjoy travelling through the charming streets of Oak Park and River Forest with local history and outstanding architecture representing the best of late 19th century style.  View Frank Lloyd Wright’s first private commission, the stunning Winslow House, learn the story of Wright’s “Bread and Butter” cottages; see where Ernest Hemmingway was born. Tour the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & StudioThis afternoon we start our journey home with an overnight stay in Michigan. (B & L)        
Day 6: Tues., Sept. 13 - This morning we begin our journey home, stopping at the duty free and crossing at Port Huron, arriving in Barrie at approximately 8:00p.m. (B)
Tour includes: motor coach transportation with Hamilton Tours Director, 5 nights hotel & taxes, baggage handling, 5 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 4 dinners, attractions, guided tours as listed in the itinerary, duty free shopping & HST EXEMPT. 
Cost per person: Twin $1795.00 & Single $2215.00
A deposit of $400.00 is required at the time of booking, with the balance due in full by July 11, 2016
Travel Insurance is available through our office at the time of booking at an additional charge. 

 
 


PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP:

A Valid Canadian Passport
- the best form of Identification

As of June 1, 2009, a Valid Canadian passport is required for those travelling to the United States by land, air or cruise ship.

Canadian Residents Holding non-Canadian Passports: Upon entry into the USA by land, you must fill out Form I-94, and pay $6 US per person. Upon your return to Canada, the form must be presented to the customs office as proof that you have left the USA.

Hamilton Tours staff advise passengers of their travel document requirements, but we will not be responsible for passengers denied access to the US, or for re-entry into Canada. If this happens, you will be responsible for your own transportation home.

To facilitate border crossing, please keep your identification on your person.
