Monday, May 9 to Friday, May 13, 2016 - “Sew Irresistible Quilt Tour”
11th Annual Quilter’s Patchwork Tour – Destination - Michigan
Tentative Itinerary:
Day 1: Mon., May 9 - The tour will depart from Creemore at 6:45a.m., Barrie, Bayfield Mall behind Canadian Tire at 7:30a.m. & the Tour Office at 8:00a.m. (Overnight parking is available at the Tour Office).
Remember to bring with you your Valid Canadian Passport for the border crossing into the USA. Please keep this document with you and be prepared to present it at the border. 
We will have lunch at the “Cracker Barrel” in Port Huron.  
Let the retail therapy begin….. Our shopping adventure begins with a visit to Sew Elegant.  This fabric store has approximately 8000 bolts of fabric. 
We will travel to Berkley and visit the Guildcrafters Quilt Shop, where you can delight in over 6000 bolts of fabric, original patterns and kits.
The Double Tree in Dearborn, Michigan will be our home for the next 2 nights.  Enjoy the hotel's restaurant,  fitness center & indoor pool.  An evening Welcome dinner awaits us.  (Dinner)
Day 2: Tues., May 10 – Following breakfast at the hotel we will visit The Material Girls in Dearborn.  The owner has offered to open her fabric store early for us this morning.  Then we will visit the Henry Ford Museum. The museum began as Henry Ford's personal collection of historic objects, which he began collecting as far back as 1906. Today, the 12 acre site is primarily a collection of antique machinery, pop culture items, automobiles, locomotives, aircraft, and other items.  Not to be missed is Rosa Park’s bus, JFK Presidential Limousine & the Lincoln Chair to mention just a few.   If you missed it in 1964, here’s a second chance.  The Magical History Tour - A Beatles Memorabilia Exhibition will be on display from April 30 to Sept. 18 and we have tickets to enjoy this special exhibit. 
This afternoon we will learn about the amazing city of Detroit with our Step on Guide.
This tour will show you a Detroit that defies your expectations.
Our afternoon will conclude with a visit to the Motown Musical Museum – A must-see in Detroit!
Step into an era of musical magic on your visit to the Motown Museum. Tour Hitsville U.S.A.
the birthplace of the Motown Sound. Stand where the Temptations, Four Tops, Miracles and
Supremes, and many more of your favorite Motown artists and musicians - recorded their
famous songs. (B)
Day 3: Wed., May 11 – A group breakfast will be served at the hotel.   Today we will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to visit the Ann Arbor Sewing and Quilting Centre. This store has approximately 7000 bolts of fabric.  Lunch will be a special treat in Fenton at “The Laundry.”   
Before leaving Fenton we will stop by The Quilter’s Garden known for their bright colours and over 3500 bolts of fabric. 
Relax as we drive to Bay City where we will call the Double Tree Hotel home for the next 2 nights. Enjoy the hotel's business centre, fitness center & indoor pool.  (B & L)
Day 4: Thurs., May 12 - A group breakfast will be served at the hotel.  Today’s Highlight’s include:  The Fabric Fair with 500 bolts, Bonnie's Fabrics - who hope to be in their newly expanded store, a visit to the Antique Mall (which takes up and entire city block) and time to explore the Main Street in Bay City.  A special evening dinner will conclude our day. Day 5: Fri., May 13 - This morning following breakfast we will travel to Frankenmuth. 
We will have a guided tour of Zeilinger Wool Co. and free time on the Main Street over the lunch hour.  This afternoon a lovely drive in the country takes us to Sisters in Quilting in Marlette. 
A brief stop will be made at RMC Quilts in Port Huron who specialize in Wide Backing fabrics only and a full line of Pellon Legacy Batting.  The store next door is a lovely Artisan’s Gallery of local crafters.  
We will stop for duty free shopping & meal breaks enroute home.  Return to Bradford at approximately 9:00p.m, Barrie at 9:30p.m. & Creemore at 10:15p.m. (B )
Tour includes: motor coach transportation with Hamilton Tours Director, 4 nights hotel & taxes, baggage handling, 4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 2 evening dinners, guided city tour, admission to the Henry Ford Museum and special Beatle Exhibit,  admission to the Motown Museum, shopping, duty free shopping & HST EXEMPT. 
Cost per person: Twin $1249.00 & Single $1619.00   (prices in Canadian dollars)
A deposit of $400.00 is required at the time of booking, with the balance due in full by April 1, 2016
Travel Insurance is available through our office at the time of booking at an additional charge. 

 
 


PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP:

A Valid Canadian Passport
- the best form of Identification

As of June 1, 2009, a Valid Canadian passport is required for those travelling to the United States by land, air or cruise ship.

Canadian Residents Holding non-Canadian Passports: Upon entry into the USA by land, you must fill out Form I-94, and pay $6 US per person. Upon your return to Canada, the form must be presented to the customs office as proof that you have left the USA.

Hamilton Tours staff advise passengers of their travel document requirements, but we will not be responsible for passengers denied access to the US, or for re-entry into Canada. If this happens, you will be responsible for your own transportation home.

To facilitate border crossing, please keep your identification on your person.
