Friday, May 26 to Sunday, May 28, 2017 – Hot Air Balloon Championships in Frankenmuth, Michigan

Balloons over Bavarian Inn
Hot Air Balloonists compete in morning and evening flights as they float over Frankenmuth. Experience the Village of Balloons at night with the Balloon Glow! Watch 15+ tethered balloons inflate, then interact with the pilots & crew.
The Dog Bowl – Canine Competition - A high energy event that showcases dogs running, jumping, diving, and retrieving! Located in Frankenmuth River Place Shops.  Lots of great events: Best Costume Contest, 50 yard Doggie Fun Run, Disc Dog Competitions, Wiener Dog Races, Pet Retail Vendors, Dog Bowl King and Queen, Dog Breeds of the World Show, Annual Canine Cruise of the Bavarian Belle River Boat, & DockDogs Competition.
Tentative Itinerary:
Day 1: Fri., May 26 - The tour will depart from Orillia (with 10 or more passengers) at 7:00a.m., Barrie, Bayfield Mall at 7:30a.m. & Tour Office at 8:00a.m. (Overnight parking is available at our Tour Office).  A shuttle van will be picking up customers in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach & Elmvale (with a minimum of 6 passengers) upon request and transferred to meet the coach in Barrie.   All passengers will require a Canadian Passport for the border crossing. There will be stops made enroute for duty free shopping and lunch at the Cracker Barrel at Port Huron.  We will arrive in Frankenmuth at approximately 4:00p.m. for our two-night stay at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Please note the hotel has an indoor pool for your enjoyment.  We will have a guided tour of the town prior to dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.  Our hotel is located right next to the fields where the Hot Air Balloons launch from. This evening we can enjoy the Great Lakes Hot Air Balloon Glow!  (D)
Day 2: Sat., May 27 - Today is a free day to explore the Main Street of Frankenmuth and enjoy the activities at the Dog Bowl and Hot Air Balloon Championships. A few suggestions would be: Watch the glockenspiel at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant, Head to Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth for lunch, visit the Frankenmuth Brewery and enjoy a beer sampling, The Cheese Store is a must along with the many unique shops in town. Day 3:  Sun., May 28 - Following a late breakfast we will visit the Birch Run Prime Outlet Mall. Before leaving Frankenmuth we will visit Bronner’s Christmas Store. We will depart for home midafternoon with a stop at the duty free, returning to Orillia at approximately 9:00p.m. (B)
Tour includes: motor coach transportation with Hamilton Tours Direc­tor, 2 night stay at the Bavarian Inn Lodge, all hotel taxes and baggage handling, 2 breakfasts, 1 evening dinner, shopping at Birch Run Outlet Mall, Bronners Christmas Store, guided tour of the town, free time to explore the downtown core, duty free shopping & HST EXEMPT.
Cost per person: Twin $675.00 & Single $925.00
A $250.00 deposit is required upon booking with the balance due in full by April 15, 2017.
Travel Insurance is available through our office at the time of booking at an additional charge. 



A Valid Canadian Passport
- the best form of Identification

As of June 1, 2009, a Valid Canadian passport is required for those travelling to the United States by land, air or cruise ship.

Canadian Residents Holding non-Canadian Passports: Upon entry into the USA by land, you must fill out Form I-94, and pay $6 US per person. Upon your return to Canada, the form must be presented to the customs office as proof that you have left the USA.

Hamilton Tours staff advise passengers of their travel document requirements, but we will not be responsible for passengers denied access to the US, or for re-entry into Canada. If this happens, you will be responsible for your own transportation home.

To facilitate border crossing, please keep your identification on your person.
