Tentative Itinerary:
Day 1: Fri., Sept. 20 - The tour will depart from Orillia, Barrie, Bayfield Mall behind Canadian Tire Store & the Tour Office.   A shuttle van will be picking up customers in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach & Elmvale (with a minimum of 6 passengers) upon request and transferred to meet the coach in Barrie.  (Overnight parking is available at our Tour Office)  We will travel by motor coach to Pearson International Airport. We will fly from Toronto to Deer Lake, Newfoundland.   A Welcome Dinner awaits our arrival at the Glynmill Inn our home for the next 2 nights.  (D)
Day 2: Sat., Sept. 21 - Today we’ll visit Cook’s Lookout before heading south to Stephenville.  From there we will drive out to Port au Port Peninsula – locally known as the French Shore, this area remains the French hub of Newfoundland. I think of it as “Newfoundland’s Miniature Cabot Trail” – such a scenic drive.  Today we will visit “Our Lady of Mercy Church” and then enjoy lunch at the Mainland Cultural Centre.  We will travel through such villages as Cape St. George, Three Rock Cove and Lourdes before returning to our hotel. (B & L)                                            Day 3: Sun., Sept, 22 - Today may become your favourite day of the tour.  This morning we will depart for Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will explore the southside of the park known as the Tablelands.  Lunch will be served in Woody Point with free time to explore the village.  This afternoon we will continue our drive to Rocky Harbour.  You will marvel at the spectacular ocean scenery, mountains and fjords.  We will be staying at the Ocean View Hotel in Rocky Harbour for 2 nights. A group evening dinner will be served upon our arrival. (B, L & D)
Day 4: Mon., Sept. 23 - This morning is a free morning to relax. This afternoon you will experience the beauty of the fresh water Fjords of Western Brook Pond. (Weather permitting)   Please note that in order to reach the docks of the boat tour – we must walk (a fairly level) 3 km walk or approx. 45 minutes OR the Bonne Bay Boat tour which requires no walking. Tonight is a special treat as we enjoy the “Pub Night featuring the Anchors Aweigh Band” at our hotel. This group performs 3 nights a week and sells out every performance!     (B)
Day 5: Tues., Sept. 24 - This morning we continue our drive up the Northern Peninsula – known as the Viking Trail to St. Anthony.  We will stop at the Arches, a natural phenomenon carved over many centuries by the sea. We will travel along some of the most spectacular coastline in North America.  A group lunch will be in Plum Point. This afternoon we will visit the Grenfell Centre which honours the famous medical missionary, Sir Wilfred Grenfell.  We will be staying at Hotel North in St. Anthony for our 2 night stay. (B & L)
Day 6: Wed., Sept. 25 - This morning we will experience a 2.5 hour award winning boat tour with Northland Discovery in hopes of seeing whales and dolphins. It is a certified vessel with music, onboard biologist & washroom equipped. In afternoon we will visit L’Anse aux Meadows Interpretative Centre. Here is the only known Viking Site in North America and the earliest evidence of Europeans in the western hemisphere. (B & D)
Day 7: Thurs., Sept, 26 - Today we will drive south along the Viking Trail We will travel through Gros Morne National Park once more.  There will be stops at Lobster Cove Lighthouse and Photographers Lookout before heading to Deer Lake Holiday Inn Express for our overnight stay.   (B & D)
