Churchill, Manitoba - Polar Bear Country

Wednesday, November 14 to Monday, November 19, 2018 - Churchill, Manitoba - Bring your Camera and Your Sense of Adventure as we head North to Polar Bear Country.

Join us on a 6-day adventure which coincides with the Polar Bears Migration. The town of Churchill, nestled on the shores of Hudson Bay, is 650 miles north of Winnipeg. Churchill is known as the Polar Bear Capital of the World.

Day 1:  Wed., Nov. 14 - This tour offers door to door pick-up in Simcoe County & York Region to Pearson International Airport for our afternoon flight to Winnipeg.  Our overnight stay is at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel.  This evening we will have a meet & greet hosted by our Frontiers North Interpretive Guide.

Day 2:  Thurs., Nov. 15 - Flight to Churchill - Your Churchill Adventure begins with an early morning flight to Churchill. Today’s activities include a tour of the Town of Churchill including many historic, cultural and ecological points of interest, a visit to the Itsanitaq Museum, formerly the Eskimo Museum, and an evening cultural presentation. (B, L & D)

Day 3:  Fri., Nov. 16 - Just two polar bear tour operators in Churchill hold exclusive permits to access the full range of the Churchill Wildlife Management Area where the best and often only polar bear viewing occurs. It was the creation of the original tundra vehicle, the Tundra Buggy that ignited adventuring amongst polar bears in Churchill more than 30 years ago. Today, Frontiers North carries on that spirit of leading the way.  Specially designed for the northern landscape, these all-terrain vehicles enable us to take guests to the best locations in the Churchill area to safely experience wildlife.  Today we will spend a full day on a Tundra Buggy excursion. Churchill is one of the few human settlements where you can come face to face with the mighty polar bear from unique tundra vehicles that let you travel in comfort and safety over the snowy terrain.  Follow the bears as they gather along the shores of Hudson Bay, waiting for the ice to freeze.
(B, L & D)

Day 4:  Sat., Nov. 17- We will spend a second full day on the Tundra Buggy. (B, L & D)

Day 5:  Sun., Nov. 18 - Today’s activities include Dog sledding excursion and a visit to the Parks Canada Interpretive Centre to learn about the historical significance of Churchill. An evening flight returns us to Winnipeg for an overnight stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel at the Winnipeg airport. (B, L & D)
