Friday, September 29 & Saturday, September 30, 2017 - Exploring Cobourg & Port Hope along the shores of Lake Ontario  (Overnight Mystery Tour Revealed )

Port Hope is the Canadian destination for the 19th century architecture enthusiasts, blending both urban and rural.  More than 2 centuries of Canadian History is waiting to be explored in this charming town, widely regarded as one of the best-preserved main streets in Ontario.

Cobourg is also rich in history from its Marina where a car ferry connected Rochester to Cobourg from 1905 to 1950, to its Main Street, Heritage buildings and lovely downtown core.

Tentative Itinerary:

Day 1: Fri., Sept. 29 - The tour will depart from Wasaga Beach at 8:30a.m. (with a minimum of 10 passengers), Barrie, Bayfield Mall behind Canadian Tire Store at 9:15a.m. and the Tour Office at 9:45a.m. (Overnight parking is available at our Tour Office).  Upon arrival in Cobourg, enjoy a visit to Victoria Hall.  There will free time on the Main Street before checking into The Best Western Plus Hotel for our overnight-night stay. This evening, a group dinner awaits us in the newly renovated Arthur’s Pub.  Tonight we will attend a performance of  "About Barry & Bette" at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope.

Duets, famous classics, and a little good humour make this tribute as dynamic and entertaining as the famous singers themselves.   One of the world’s top celebrity impersonators, Kathy Thompson portrays Bette Midler with a striking physical resemblance and uncanny likeness to the diva while performing her most enduring hits such as ‘The Rose’, ‘Wind Beneath my Wings’, ‘Under the Boardwalk’, and ‘Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy’.

Legendary impersonator Joe Passion performs as Barry Manilow delivering his version of “Broadway Meets Vegas” Joe is accompanied by big band arrangements, has a funny comedy routine and wears the requisite expensive clothing. Showmanship – Barry style – Joe performs top Manilow hits including ‘Can’t Smile Without You’,‘I Write the Songs’ and many more.  (D)

Day 2: Sat., Sept. 30 - This morning after a leisurely breakfast, we will explore the town of Cobourg & Port Hope with our local guide.  A few points of interest will include Rotary Harbourfront Park, Cobourg's Marina and accessibility beach mat from the gazebo to the water's edge and The Farmer's Market.  Lunch will be served at Trattoria Gusto in Port Hope. Return to Barrie at approx. 7:00p.m. & Wasaga Beach at 7:45p.m.  (B & L)

Tour includes: motor coach transportation with Hamilton Tours Director, 1 nights hotel & taxes, baggage handling, Theatre performance at the Capitol Theatre, admissions & guided visits as outlined in the itinerary, 3 meals & HST.
