Day 1: Mon., July 7 - Tour departs from the Tour Office at 7:00a.m. and Barrie, Kozlov Mall at 7:30a.m. (Overnight parking is available at the Tour Office at Hwy 88 & 400). Today we travel to Sault Ste Marie for our overnight stay. Enjoy a group dinner this evening. (D)
Day 2: Tues., July 8 - This morning we cross the border in to the state of Michigan. Today we will visit the Great Lake Shipwreck Museum and learn about the legend of the Edmund Fitzgerald, which remains the most mysterious and controversial of all shipwreck tales heard around the Great Lakes. Our destination this evening is Marquette, Michigan for a one-night stay. (B & D)
Day 3: Wed., July 9 –Today you will see beautiful scenery as we follow the shoreline of Lake Superior as we travel to Duluth, Minnesota for a two night stay. Duluth welcomes ships from across the globe. Our hotel located in the Canal Park area, which overlooks the waterfront. Watch for the massive ships sailing under the Aerial Lift Bridge. (B & D)
Day 4: Thurs., July 10 – This morning is free to explore the Canal park area followed by a guided tour and a visit to the Maritime Museum. Walk the shores along the Lakewalk, the boardwalk winding through one city park after another, where oceangoing freighters slip silently by. Explore shops housed in waterfront buildings. Explore a relic ore boat, which supplied the steel mills that built this country’s history. This evening enjoy a narrated harbour dinner cruise on Lake Superior and learn the history of the lake and its importance to Duluth (B & D)
Day 5: Fri., July 11 - Today, we return to Canada crossing at Pigeon River as we travel to Thunder Bay. Turn your clocks back by one hour. Our travels take us along scenic Highway 61 with several stops along the way. We will also visit Split Rock Lighthouse which was built in response to the great loss of ships during the famous Mataffa Storm of 1905, in which 29 ships were lost on Lake Superior. A welcome dinner awaits us at the hotel where we enjoy a two night stay. (B & D)
Day 6: Sat., July 12 – Today’s highlights include: Fort William Historical Park a leading heritage and cultural attraction, scenic lookouts and the inspirational Terry Fox Monument. Enjoy a Voyageur lunch as part of our Thunder Bay experience. This afternoon we will experience Kakabeka Falls - Thunder Bay’s Niagara of the North, as well as Eagle Canyon to view the incredible suspension bridges. (B & L)
Day 7: Sun., July 13 –This morning, we travel the rugged northern shoreline to Wawa. Watch for the Wawa Goose and visit Young’s General Store. It is one of the best-known attractions on the Trans-Canada Highway, with Henrietta the Moose always standing on the front porch waiting to greet you. This evening enjoy dinner and a slideshow at a Lakeside Lodge. (B & D)
Day 8: Mon., July 14 - This morning we complete our Lake Superior Circle as we travel to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Highlights today include: Agawa Bay, Lake Superior Provincial Park and a visit to the Agawa Crafts and Canadian Carver. (B)
Day 9: Tues., July. 15 - Following breakfast we will visit the Canadian Bush Plane Museum before departing the Sault. Enjoy a farewell group dinner at the Log Cabin Restaurant in Parry Sound enroute home. (B & D)
